Programmer / Designer
As a newcomer to the United States at the age of 6, I did not realize how much my life and perspectives would change. I now realize that my ability to adapt and thrive in this new environment is one of the factors that led me to be who I am today.
While playing sports from a very young age was an identifying factor in my life, playing video games really was my favorite pass time. At 3 years old I was already playing a game called "Umi's World" which sparked the passion that has grown within me for gaming. Growing up, I had the privilege to own almost every console and handheld game device to be released since PlayStation 1.
Today most students choose their majors based on money or prestige yet, I quickly realized that to be truly happy in a career, one must be truly devoted and passionate towards it. Starting pre-med at UCF, I worked as an EMT to gain medical experience and insights. During this time, I came to the realization that medicine was not my true passion, video games and programming are, and knew that I would not only thrive in, but also enjoy to the fullest as my chosen career.
I see game development as an art, all the way from concept designs to programming, a well-made game is a masterpiece. It is beautiful to see how all components of the game work in unison to create an enriching and immersive experience. I really enjoy the programming aspect of game design in specific because it is the skeleton of a game, in every game I play, I understand and research how the game is coded. This leads me to understand games in ways not many people could.
With technology advancing exponentially, as mankind we are going to create some amazing things. One of my main goals in life is to be a part of this advancement and contribute to society. One of my life's objectives is to create an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) training simulator. This will allow EMT's to perform and practice the maneuvers used in emergency situations with AI reaction simulating real life Scenario's.
The passion and experience I have in video games as a user and as a creator are the pillars of the career journey I'm ready to embark on. Any task that I'm presented with represents a challenge that I'm looking forward to excel at creatively.
